Day #150: Ceiling Panels Finished & Bathroom OSBs

Maanantaina 22. helmikuuta 2010 · Marius

moi, ceiling panels had been finished in other rooms. this could have been done fast, as panels had been pre-cut last weekend. next step had been to continue in bathroom. here next step would be to close floor also i shower area. this had been a bit tricky as lowering the base floor for desired water outlet wasn’t that easy due to water tubes crossing the area above 390 mm beams.

Day #145: Ceiling Panels Living Room Finished

Lauantaina 13. helmikuuta 2010 · Marius

moi, the living room had been finished by this day. the ceiling is completely done. all holes for lights had also been drilled. i hope the light configuration looks nice in the end. i spent a lot of brainwork for it, making it looking nice. we’ll see later whether my job has been sufficient.

installing ceiling panels had been fun as they had been all of a very good quality. i never expected that by the end of the room(after 5,20 meters) we wouldn’t be off axis at all. it was really a weird moment as this prooves that a non-pro can also install panels proper. tip for future users: buy a staple gun! 109 EUR incl. 5000 x 40 mm staples makes you forgetting the overpriced stuff from DIY-markets where this goes for 400 EUR.

what had been a pain was installing the kitchen exhaust. this needed careful inspection in advance as all the “local experts” except for my kitchen guy jens explained me that this won’t work seamless with panels making an (ugly) hanging block necessary. well… as you can see it works also w/o cutting any of the roof trusses if you only do it smart. ;-)

oh… and kitchen exhaust comes from belgium company NOVY (http://www.novy-dunsthauben.de). they have an external engine allowing them to be best-in-class regarding noise. also thanx to folks of kruse.design (local distributor) and jens of BAX kitchen (http://www.bax-kuechen.de) for their support.
